Treatment Introduction

Salivary gland/temporal muscle Botox is a procedure in which botulinum toxin is injected into enlarged salivary glands or overly developed temporal muscles to refine facial contours and help improve teeth grinding and migraines. The target area—salivary gland or temporal muscle—is selected and customized based on skin condition and areas of concern.

Treatment Principle

Principle of the Procedure

Principle of the Procedure

Botulinum toxin works by temporarily inhibiting the release of acetylcholine at nerve endings. When injected into the salivary glands, the glands gradually shrink due to lack of stimulation, resulting in a reduced size and a more defined jawline. When injected into the temporalis muscle, the volume of the overdeveloped muscle spreading from the temple to the scalp decreases, making the head appear smaller and also helping to relieve migraines caused by teeth grinding or jaw clenching.

Procedure Process

Step 1 | We assess the facial contour, check for salivary gland hypertrophy, temporal protrusion, and symptoms of bruxism to determine the injection sites and dosage. Step 2 | Based on skin condition and preferred medication, we select the appropriate product and precisely inject it into the salivary gland or temporalis muscle. Step 3 | We provide guidance on when to expect results after the procedure, the recommended interval for repeat treatments, and important precautions.

Expected Effects

Salivary Gland/Temporalis Muscle Botox Expected Effects

Changes begin to appear about two weeks after the procedure, and within 4 to 6 weeks, you can expect improvements in the jawline or a more contoured temporal area due to the reduction of the salivary glands. For those with teeth grinding or migraines, relaxation of the temporalis muscle can also help alleviate symptoms.

Recommended For

1
For those who suspect salivary gland enlargement because the fat under the chin does not go away even after dieting
2
For those concerned about a larger-looking head due to developed temple muscles
3
For those whose temporalis muscles are overly developed due to teeth grinding or clenching habits
4
For those experiencing discomfort due to recurring migraines
5
For those who want to comprehensively refine their facial contours in combination with square jaw Botox

Precautions

Do not lie down or massage the treated area within 4 hours after the procedure.

Please avoid strenuous exercise, sauna, and alcohol on the same day.

The effects gradually appear from two weeks after the procedure and can be confirmed after 4 to 6 weeks.

You may temporarily experience weakened chewing strength or a feeling of awkwardness, which will subside within a few weeks.

If you experience any abnormal reactions (such as severe pain, asymmetry, or changes in facial expression) that persist, please visit us immediately.
